Texas Instruments has announced a new image sensor chip, the SN65LVDS324, that is poised to potentially replace FPGAs in certain designs. This chip is designed to act as a bridge (LVDS) between image sensors and processors.
The SN65LVDS324 delivers full HD 1080p60 image quality while consuming less than 150 mW. The chip leverages Texas Instruments’ FlatLink serial interface technology, aimed at reducing the number of signal lines required.
Image Sensor Receiver Features:
- SubLVDS input supports up to 648 Mbps
- 100 Ohm differential termination at the input
- Compatible with TI’s OMAP™ and DaVinci™ processors
