Agilent Technologies, in collaboration with Virginia Diodes Inc., introduced new high-frequency modules, as announced in Test and Measurement News on September 4, 2013. These modules extend the frequency range of Agilent’s VSG (Vector Signal Generator) and VSA (Vector Signal Analyzer).

This advancement facilitates testing at millimeter frequencies up to 1.1 THz, crucial for developing 5G and IEEE 802.11ad based devices. At these high frequencies, supporting wider modulation bandwidths is essential, and the measurement process becomes considerably more complex.

Agilent’s VSG/VSA, coupled with VDI modules from Virginia Diodes Inc., effectively addresses these challenges.

Silent Features of VDI Modules:

  • High performance and extended dynamic range.
  • Higher output power when used with a signal generator.
  • Signal Analyzer: Reduction in conversion loss & increase in sensitivity.
