This page describes the 5G NR GSCN (Global Synchronization Channel Number).
GSCN Explained
-
GSCN is the short form of Global Synchronization Channel Number.
-
This field identifies the center frequency for a set of SS/PBCH blocks.
-
To select an appropriate center frequency, the following two requirements should be fulfilled:
- The Resource Blocks occupied by the SS/PBCH blocks must be completely within the channel bandwidth.
- The SS/PBCH blocks must be subcarrier aligned with the RBs belonging to the channel bandwidth (BW).
GSCN Parameters for Global Frequency Raster
The following table outlines the GSCN parameters for the global frequency raster:
| Frequency Range | SS Block Frequency Position | SS REF | GSCN Range | | ------------------- | ----------------------------- | ------------------------------------- | ------------ | -------------- | | 0 to 3000 MHz | N*1200 KHz + M*50 KHz | N=1:2499, M = {1,3,5} (Default M =3 ) | 3N + (M-3)/2 | 2 to 7498 | | 3000 to 24250 MHz | 3000 MHz + N * 1.44 MHz | N =0 :14756 | 7499 + N | 7499 to 22255 | | 24250 to 100000 MHz | 24250.08 MHz + N * 17.28 MHz | N = 0 :4383 | 22256 + N | 22256 to 26639 |
