About IR learner:

The device which consists of an IR transmitter and an IR receiver and can be plugged into a computer for analysis of IR codes is known as an IR learner. IR stands for Infrared. With the use of the transmitter part of the IR learner, the IR receiver part of any DUT (Device Under Test) can be tested.

With the use of the receiver part of the IR learner, the IR transmitter part of a DUT can be tested.

Hence, an IR learner helps in analyzing and decoding IR codes used by remote controls of TVs, VCRs, etc. Typically, IR learner hardware consists of a microcontroller or microprocessor, a Zigbee chip, and an IR chip.

The Microcontroller/Microprocessor does the conversion of the Zigbee protocol format to IR codes.
