This is especially useful when you’re not getting a good signal from nearby towers. One of the easiest ways to figure this out is by downloading and installing an app from the Google Play Store or other app stores. These cell tower locator apps work on your mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.

Go to the Google Play Store and search for “Cell Phone Tower Locator.” You’ll find many apps. Download the one with the snapshot shown in Figure 1.

Click on the “Install” button. The app will automatically install and its icon will appear on your screen.

When you open the app, it will look similar to Figure 2.

As shown, the app displays the serving cell information (based on the SIM card in your phone), as well as information from neighboring cells.

Figure 2 shows Vodafone cell information with MCC and MNC. It also displays information about two other cells. The HSPA cell is shown with ARFCN and RSSI.
