This page explains the Cellular Area Throughput Calculator and provides the Area Throughput Formula or equation.
Area throughput is defined as the amount of information bits that can be successfully delivered to a specific area per unit time. It’s measured in units of bit/sec/Km².
EXAMPLE:
- INPUTS:
- Bandwidth (B) = 20 MHz
- D = 50 Cells/Km²
- SE = 4.08 bits/sec/Hz
- OUTPUT:
- Area Throughput = 4080 bits/sec/Km²
Cellular Area Throughput Formula
The following equation or formula is used for the Cellular area throughput calculator.
Where:
- B is Bandwidth
- D is cell density (Number of cells per Km²)
- SE is spectral efficiency per cell
Spectral efficiency is defined as the amount of information bits per second sent to a cell over one Hz of Bandwidth.
