This page provides a list of LiFi vendors who develop or manufacture LiFi products. It’s a useful resource for vendors working in the LiFi domain.
What is LiFi Technology?
The IEEE 802.15.7 standard defines LiFi specifications for the Physical (PHY, layer-1) and Media Access Control (MAC, layer-2) layers. It specifies mobile-to-mobile, fixed-to-mobile, and infrastructure-to-mobile communications. It focuses on medium-range communications at very high speed with the help of an optical medium.
LiFi supports data rates up to 1 Gbps using various modulation schemes. It uses visible light from the electromagnetic spectrum between 400 THz and 800 THz as an optical carrier. LiFi uses fast pulses of light to transmit data or information through the wireless medium of light.
A LiFi system comprises an LED bulb and a silicon photodiode. The LED acts as a transmission source which modulates the light with the data signal. The photodiode functions as a receiver of the visible light.
