GSM Common Control Channel (CCCH)

GSM Common Control Channels (CCCHs) are vital for communication between the network and mobile subscribers (MSs). They serve two primary purposes: conveying information from the network to the MSs, and providing access to the network for the MSs.

CCCH stands for Common Control Channel.

GSM CCCHs comprise the following channels:

  • PCH (Paging Channel)
  • RACH (Random Access Channel)
  • AGCH (Access Grant Channel)
  • CBCH (Cell Broadcast Channel)
