Munich, Oct 02, 2013 – Rohde & Schwarz has enhanced its existing SMW200A VSG (vector signal generator) by adding the R&S SMW-K540 option to provide an envelope tracking feature.
We know that a major portion of the amplifier power in smartphones is dissipated as heat. This unique envelope tracking feature increases the efficiency of the amplifier because the amplifier supply voltage is able to track the RF signal envelope. Hence, the amplifier always operates in a range close to its instantaneous maximum output power.
Users can delay the RF waveform and the envelope waveform relative to each other by +/-500 ns with 1 ps resolution.
R&S offers communication test equipment such as the CMU200 and CMW500, which are widely used across the globe by standard developers to develop and test modems from scratch. These modems are based on GSM/WCDMA/LTE and other 3GPP standards.
R&S CMU200 Features
The CMU200 is a Universal Radio Communication Tester widely used for testing devices based on 3GPP WCDMA-FDD/HSPA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE and GSM-R standards.
R&S CMW500 Features
The CMW500 is a Wideband Radio Communication Tester that can be used for testing up to a frequency of 6 GHz. It is used by modem developers of GSM/WCDMA/LTE and other standards.
