This page provides a WiFi7 throughput calculator, also known as a WLAN 802.11be data rate calculator. This tool helps determine the maximum throughput achievable with the 802.11be standard.
This WiFi-7 data rate calculator utilizes the 802.11be maximum throughput formula.
EXAMPLE: 802.11be WiFi-7 Data Rate Calculator:
-
INPUTS:
- BW = 320 MHz (The calculator automatically determines N SD)
- N CBPS = 12
- Code rate = 0.833
- N SS = 16 (For 16x16 MIMO)
- Symbol period = 12.8 µs
- GI = 0.8 µs
-
OUTPUT:
- IEEE 802.11be Maximum throughput = 46.099 Gbps

The following formula or equation is used for the WiFi-7 data rate or throughput calculation:
Details of WiFi7 Maximum Throughput Calculation
The following are the details of WiFi7 maximum throughout calculation as per the formula mentioned above.
- NSD (Number of data subcarriers as per bandwidth) = 234 (20 MHz), 468 (40 MHz), 936 (80 MHz), 1960 (160 MHz), 3920 (320 MHz)
- NCBPS (Number of coded bits per OFDM symbol) in bits = 1 (BPSK), 2 (QPSK), 4(16QAM), 6(64QAM), 8(256QAM), 10(1024QAM), 12(4096QAM)
- Code Rate (R) = 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6
- NSS (Number of Spatial Streams) = 2, 4, 8, 16. NOTE: For no spatial stream, enter 1 here as input.
- Symbol time duration is fixed to 12.8 µs.
- Guard interval (GI) duration can be 0.8, 1.6 or 3.2 µs.
