This page provides information about the receiver C/N ratio calculator.
EXAMPLE:
- G/T ratio = 10
- Satellite EIRP = 50
- Propagation loss = 200
- Margins = 3
Receiver C/N ratio in dBHz = 85.6
Receiver C/N Ratio Equation
Receiver C/N ratio, or CNR, is a crucial metric in wireless systems. For a system to operate efficiently, the receiver C/N ratio should be positive and as high as possible. A higher C/N ratio leads to a better Eb/No (Energy per bit to noise power spectral density ratio) and a lower BER (Bit Error Rate).
The following equation or formula is used for the receiver C/N ratio calculation. The C/N ratio calculator takes satellite parameters as input, along with various losses, to determine the C/N ratio at the earth station receiver.
