Introduction to 5G NR and Base Stations

5G NR (New Radio) is the latest wireless cellular standard, succeeding LTE/LTE-A. It adheres to 3GPP specifications from Release 15 onwards. In 5G NR, the Base Station (BS) is referred to as a gNB. BS Type 1-HNR base station operating at FR1 with a requirement set consisting of conducted requirements defined at individual TAB (Transceiver Array Boundary) connectors and OTA (over the air) requirements defined at RIB (Radiated Interface Boundary).
BS Type 1-ONR base station operating at FR1 with a requirement set consisting only of OTA requirements defined at the RIB.
BS Type 2-ONR base station operating at FR2 with a requirement set consisting only of OTA requirements defined at the RIB.
