Introduction : The DoIP has been developed to address limitations of traditional diagnostic protocols such as K-line and CAN. These legacy protocols had limited bandwidth and data capacity. DoIP uses ethernet technology which provides higher bandwidth. It also fulfills the requirements of modern vehicles which generate and process large amount of data from various ECUs (Electronic Control Units), Sensors and systems.

What is DoIP ?

The full form of DoIP is Diagnostic Communication over Internet Protocol. It is used in automotive domain to perform diagnostic and software upgrades on ECUs within a vehicle. DoIP is used for communication between tester and ECUs over ethernet.

The features of DoIP protocol are as follows.
